Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an effective evidence-based treatment model created by Dr. Marsha Linehan, that uses skills training to support people in replacing maladaptive behaviors with skillful behaviors, in responding to life rather than reacting, and can enhance the lives of all.

"I have many take-aways from this presentation! One is, learning about the states of mind, and skills used to assess a client, or myself, to achieve interpersonal effectiveness and a wise mind. Second is, the skills for distress tolerance and how to use them for the short term and long term when faced with a crisis. Third is, skills to improve emotional resiliency. And fourth is, some great strategies for effective communication"

-Katie McGowan

"There are so many things that I learned. Lots of helpful information"

-Brittney Shelton

"This was a great introduction to using music therapy to address many DBT skills."

- Katie Drake

" 3 ideas that I am taking away from this series are: learning about the four skills modules of DBT; seeing how well DBT and music therapy can work together; and the information from the video about emotional regulation"

- Beth Walls
